Tera's wish

who needs yoda?

Last year, along with millions of other people around the world, I went to see the new Star Wars film. I have always loved the "may the force be with you" line. It sounded magical, and as only a few privileged beings were allowed to feel the "force", it was even more special and desirable. Of course, this comes from someone that spent hours in front of a mirror (during my childhood) trying to be able to twitch my nose like Samantha on Bewitched!

When I saw the original Star Wars films, however, I was a child. Viewing this film as an adult, I realized something very important. The "force" is real, and you don't need Yoda to get it!

There is a special quality within you that can create miracles and masterpieces. The Force Within You is so powerful that you can re-direct the course of history if you decide that you want to. Having this on my mind, I came across this passage from Marianne Williamson - another piece of synchronicity as her book "A Woman's Worth" is profiled this month. She wrote: "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be Brilliant, Gorgeous, Talented and Fabulous?"

Who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking, so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the Glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
I know that not all of you believe in God - so you can replace this with Universe or whatever it is that you believe - but the principal holds true.
Who ARE you not to be fabulous? Another thing that Marianne Williamson says that I often call upon in times of insecurity is that it is not ego that drives us to become more, it is ego that keeps us from taking the risks that allow us to change our world. Sometimes, we can go beyond and actually change the world around us as well.

My personal metaphor is that of a lighthouse. I don't want to lead, I just want to help guide others on their own journey; make their passage a bit safer and easier. That is the force that lies within me. Each of us has our own unique power and strength. It is not a magical myth. It is simply our drive and determination to make a difference. It is already there inside you. (Light Saber optional!)
