financial
This is a free form exercise.
For the next three minutes (*just 3 minutes!*), write about your financial goals.
Below are some questions to help you get started:
- how much money would you
like to bring home per month?
- how much money would you
like to save each year?
- if you don't think a lot
about money, instead write about your financial goals in terms of your needs
and desires. For example, you might write that you want to have enough money
to pay your rent without stress, buy or lease a new car every four years,
save enough money to be able to pay for your child's college education, etc.
- Who could you hire to help
you learn more about your money, and to make sure your bills are paid on time
and some of your goals are met?
- how much would you like
to give to charity and tithing each year?
- When do you want to retire?
what year? What does retirement mean to you?
- Do you feel guilty that
you don't know enough about money? Would you prefer to learn more about money,
or hire someone to handle things for you so that you can just oversee that
work?
- I learned that I could
make more money working than I could doing certain things in my life that
I didn't like doing; monthly bookkeeping, housework, etc. Are there areas
in your life in which that may be true for you?
- Create a checklist of things
that worry you about money, monthly, quarterly, and yearly bills that need
to be paid, and things you would like to afford (cars, insurance, education
fund, etc.) and decide whether making an appointment for a consultation to
help with these matters would be helpful to you.
- If you feel stress about
money, what could you do right now to help yourself in more control?
- If you have bad money
habits, when did they begin? Did your parents or other influential people
in your early life have money issues that you have adopted? Write a list of
your negative and positive beliefs about money, your ability to handle money,
and brainstorm a list for improving your financial prowess.
