Someone
recently referred me to a site called "Success made Fun"– a site for a
coaching team.
If
you
had to give three pieces of advice to a complete stranger (or to your
children or child) that you felt certain would positively influence
their future happiness, success, and well-being, what would they be?
The
e-book is then full of answers from readers of the author’s newsletter.
Among my favorites (which obviously mirror the philosophies I have
shared with you in the newsletter) include:
–Avoid
any thought that doesn’t contribute to what you want to achieve in your
life.
–Do
only what makes your heart sing
–We are
all wonderful, it’s just that some people really believe they are. **
–Never
be casual with your life, love, others, or your health.
–Once
you have made a decision, move forward, and don’t allow yourself the
indulgence of regretting it.
–You
have immense value, which, once you understand it, creates a unique
perspective on life.
–Treat
everyone you meet like royalty. **
–Don’t
be afraid to change.
–Give
up comparing yourself to others.
–Give
up being right.
–Contribute
something
–Really
enjoy it when you achieve what you wanted.
–Never
forget you have a choice.
–You
are sure to find what you are looking for, so look for the best in
everyone. **
–Put
God first. **
–What
goes around comes around.
–Trust
your instincts.
–Take
responsibility for creating the life you want to live. **
–There
is always another solution. **
–You
are the expert on you – trust yourself.
–Have a
hellacious work ethic.
–Behave,
consistently, as you would if you were already the person you know you
have the potential of becoming.
The **
denote the points that I personally find most compelling.
So,
what about you? What advice would you give someone (a stranger, or your
child) based upon your life experience? What do you think most
important? Do any of the above answers resonate with you, or do you
think some of them are wrong. Can you boil down your advice to just
three (as you will see below, that was impossible for me!)
For
the record, my answers are:
—Fortune
favors the bold – getting a “no” answer changes nothing. Ask for what
you want, and quite often, you will get it.
—Perception
is reality – or as someone said above – you will find what you are
looking for so expect the best.
—Look
to God for guidance first.
—Treat
others with respect and dignity.
—Never
stop learning, and evolving into the best person you can be.
Now, what are yours?
